Tincan

TINCAN is located in Spokane Washington. We have been around for 15 years and have evolved from providing access alone to making access meaningful through content development and training. Our mission is to provide education and support for social, economic and community development for the Inland Northwest Region through the use of information technology and interactive media. A hall,ark of our programs is that they not only teach skills, but they also create actively engaged citizens. Our projects include programs for at-risk teens that use community media to support civic engagement. We have a local history site that supports neighborhood preservation and a web development program for non-profits and small business in economically disadvantaged neighborhoods. We have a CTC in our downtown office that includes a small sound studio and video equipment as well as computers, and a laptop lab that lets us set up a CTC in places that are otherwise unserved. The VISTA we are seeking will work with our teen media programs.
