The PINK HOUSE CTC organized in 1999 is a community based outreach ministries of Seventh Day Baptist Community Development Education Service Outreach Ministries. Our mission is to advance the social, economic well-being of low-and moderate income families in communities in the Lowcountry through a comprehensive community development strategies including: affordable housing, education, leadership and job training, technology, youth development and service-learning, promotion of small business, neighborhood empowerment and social enterprises

Our engagement with our targeted population involves strategic planning sessions including issues, concerns, and analysis of issues, possible solutions, plans, responsibility and timelines developed with the community. One of our major roles is to identify the decision-makers for specific issues and bring them and the community to the table. We help the community to identify and define process for contact and follow-up, especially in areas that affect or address public policy. Our staff member and volunteers help to find resources for continued growth and sustainability and capacity building for the community. Then when possible implement long-term strategic and a comprehensive community economic development strategies.

Our goals for this project is to create programs using new technologies that allow us to begin:
(1)Building the capacity of Neighborhood Associations in low-to moderate income neighborhood by: (a) Providing technical assistance and staff support to develop training programs for low-income community members to use technology to increase leadership skills, maximize political engagement, and enhance educational opportunities;(b)Increasing involvement in community issues and change efforts by planning informative and meaningful meetings and using technical solutions like automatic dialers as a means of increasing notification and participation;(c)Assisting in the provision of technical skills required to create an online presence for community and help develop an automated database with contact ability to city, county state departments that impact the community and public policy;(d)Assisting in the creation of a database for disaster awareness and the development of an action plan which includes the more vulnerable community members.(e)Providing staff and expertise to at-risk youth to develop and implement service-learning projects which reflect youth voice.
