Foundation for Successful Solutions-Project T.E.C.H. (FSS-Project T.E.C.H.) is a community technology program serving youth and adults. We operate two sites in the Mid-City Los Angeles area. FSS-Project T.E.C.H. is currently a project of Community Partners incubator for emerging community initiatives.
Founded in 1999 the mission of our organization is "To provide solutions for success to traditionally underserved groups, through experiences and opportunities that blend the 'high-tech, high-touch' skills required to compete and thrive in the 21st Century."
FSS-Project began offering computer and internet classes in 2001 at the Tom Bradley Youth and Family Center. We serve a predominately African American and Latino community, with a diverse economic base. Programs and services include:
-A variety of hardware and software classes for adults (including seniors).
-Youth media programs for middle and high school youth.
-After-school homework support and math/algebra academy using online resources.
-Free tax preparation services for low and moderate income working families through the IRS VITA program.
-Computer donations to community residents.
-Community wireless network in the Harvard Heights neighborhood of Mid-City Los Angeles.
