The mission of the Puget Sound Center for Teaching, Learning and Technology (PSCTLT) is to leverage the power of technology, diversity and leadership to transform teaching and learning. PSCTLT’s programs focus on (1) increasing use of technology in educational environments, (2) increasing equity in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM), and(3) evaluation of programs in social sciences and education to increase program quality.
PSCTLT is seeking a VISTA to serve as a Project Coordinator for the of TechREACH Alliance Project (TAP) program, which will increase access to computer technology and technology literacy among low-income families with special emphasis on rural communities, ethnic minorities, and middle and high school students in Washington State. Through this program, low-income families will receive an Internet-ready refurbished computer and learn how to use the computer through a series of Technical Assistance Workshops. TechREACH teachers will be trained to lead after school clubs in which middle and high school students will refurbish computers and provide technical support for their use.
